Philips Respironics System One DS460HS CPAP -Certified Refurbished

Copy of RX Required if Applicable to U.S Residents

The Philips Respironics System One Heated Humidifier is a CPAP machine. Continuous positive airway pressure machines are ventilators that keep the users’ airways open during sleep when they are unable to breathe on their own or they experience breathing-flow limitation. CPAP machine users often experience respiratory effort-related disorders, such as sleep apnea.

The users wear face masks to receive their sleep therapy needs when using their CPAP machines. There are nasal masks, full-face masks, and nasal pillow masks. CPAP masks are connected to the machine with a tube, where the pressurized air flows to the users.

However, sleep therapy is more than being supplied with pressurized air from CPAP and BiPAP machines, which can also have different features that offer more benefits to the CPAP or BiPAP machine user. One of the most recommended sleep therapy systems by United States sleep centers is the Philips Respironics System One REMstar Auto.

The PR System One 60 Series features a System One humidifier control, preheat humidifier option, heated tube humidifier option, and a designed water chamber that provides the user with the power to control the settings according to their preferences.

How Do I Use My System One CPAP?

  • Plug the power cord into a power supply. The Home screen view will appear after this
  • Assemble your mask. The PR System One 60 series is compatible with all CPAP masks: full-face masks, nasal pillows, and nasal masks
  • Turn the wheel to highlight the Therapy view. The airflow and therapy will begin when you press the wheel
  • There should be no air leaking from your mask as you have your therapy. Adjust your mask and headgear if this happens
  • Press the wheel again to stop the therapy, and return to the Home screen view

How Do I Change the Pressure on My Philips System One?

The CPAP pressure settings that your physician prescribes is based on the results of your overnight sleep studies. Your needed pressure levels throughout the night depends on your breathing when you’re asleep. The SD card in the Philips Respironics System One REMstar Pro is programmed with the CPAP pressure setting prescribed by your physician. You cannot change any setting while the smart card is in the CPAP machine.

To change the pressure on your Philips Respironics System One, you need to do the following:

  • Remove the smart card
  • Plug in the power cord
  • Turn on your System One REMstar Auto
  • Go to the setup menu view
  • Press the control wheel and ramp button for five seconds
  • Release the control wheel and ramp button once the Philips Respironics beeps twice
  • Go to provider mode view, where you can change the CPAP pressure settings

New Product Information Listed Below

AutoIQ technology is one of the most sophisticated auto CPAP machines available. Auto CPAP machines deliver variable pressure based on the data the machine receives from your airflow. The machine sends a signal out every four seconds and calculates whether to increase your pressure or decrease your pressure based on the presence of apnea events. AutoIQ technology takes that principle a step further. The DS460HS Auto IQ will zero in on the adequate minimum and maximum pressures, bringing you closer to the optimal pressure range. An auto CPAP machine that is wide-open will be set with a minimum pressure of 4 centimeters and a maximum pressure of 20 centimeters.

With the DS460HS AutoIQ CPAP machine, it will decide based on an auto trial that will narrow the gap of pressure settings based on the data the machine has received during the auto trial phase. Once the data has been accumulated, the machine will set its pressure to the best suited pressure based on the 30-day recordings. You, as the user, can extend your auto trial up to 30 days to determine what your optimal pressure range should be. This auto trial can be repeated at any time as your pressure needs may change over time. 1800CPAP can help you with the changes and auto trials at any time you feel your pressure needs may be different as your weight, age, or health conditions change.

You can send in your data card that stores all the information, and we can make changes for you as necessary. We are committed to helping you get the most comfortable and most ideal CPAP therapy.

The product labeled DS460HS does not have the heated humidifier needed to use the heated tubing, but that can be purchased at any time you feel the humidification you are receiving is inadequate. The optional add-on heated humidifier is called a System One 60 Series heated tube humidifier and is part number DS6T.

The proper humidity can cut back the need for as much pressure, but more importantly, it is more comfortable. You can find the PR System One REMstar Pro C-Flex with heated tube humidifier DS460TS on our site, and that option does come with the heated tube and proper heated tube humidifier.

Special Features

The PR System One REMstar 60 Series is FAA Approved

  • Approved by the FAA for use on all commercial flights. For those who constantly travel, CPAP and BiPAP machines and portable oxygen concentrators can be carried onboard, but you may need to show requirements beforehand.
  • Always contact your airline prior to your flight to confirm any requirements they may have—such as a copy of your prescription and/or a letter of medical necessity—for allowing your CPAP/BiPAP on board.

PR System One REMstar Pro C-Flex 60 series AutoIQ Features Include:

  • System One Humidity Control part of the original System One technology
  • Water Chamber Redesign
  • New Modern Design
  • Flex technology creates pressure relief on exhalation
  • System One resistance control
  • On-screen data with LCD display
  • Autotrial for up to 30 consecutive days

New design for the AutoIQ

The PR System One REMstar 60 Series AutoIQ CPAP Machine and Humidifier display a modern look with a richer charcoal color and metallic silver as accents on the control and side panels. The control dial has been changed to be more user-friendly. Flex technology is groundbreaking in CPAP compliance. People new to CPAP therapy find adapting to treatment much easier when the airflow pressure is reduced during exhalation. The 60 Series CPAP offers C-Flex, C-Flex Plus, and A-Flex modes. You can choose which mode to use based on your therapy. This machine can be set for autotrial (then to fixed pressure) or just fixed-pressure CPAP mode.

C-Flex delivers comfortable sleep therapy through pressure relief at exhalation. Pressure is lowered based on a breath-per-breath analysis and provides up to three levels of relief based on the user’s expiratory flow. C-Flex Plus softens the breathing cycle between inhalation and exhalation based on expiratory flow. It minimizes the transition between pressures and provides greater comfort when in the fixed-pressure CPAP mode.

The A-Flex comfort feature is built on top of the REMstar Auto algorithm, which provides the lowest pressure needed to keep the airway open during sleep. A-Flex adjusts to deliver pressure as needed to eliminate breathing events without raising it too high.

WOW. I LOVE THIS CPAP CONCEPT

by Ronald Bach (Washington) -

For those of you not sure about what to get you need to check this machine out. It uses an automatic adjustment for 30 days that finds the best pressure for you then it sets your pressure to the one that works best for you. If I ever need it changed again I just have it set to take a new 30 day average. WoW. I am glad I called these guys about my options.
