ResMed AirFit F40 Cushion Seal

This Product DOES NOT Require a Prescription

Product Description

The F40 series is the newest generation full face CPAP mask by ResMed. The AirFit F40 cushion is made of a silicone material that provides you a reliable seal when attached to your F40 full-face CPAP mask. The soft replacement cushion has a compact design that covers the bottom of both nostrils and your mouth by sealing around them to ensure a reliable and secure fit. These cushions are compatible with the ResMed AirFit F40 frame, making changing out the replacement quick and easy.

Why A Replacement Cushion is Essential

With regular wear, the F40 cushion on your AirFit F40 Full Face CPAP Mask is exposed to facial oils, which can affect the performance of the silicone and break it down over time. Even if you clean and care for your mask according to the manufacturer instructions, the natural result of wearing the F40 cushion against your skin for hours at a time will eventually affect it. What happens is your mask begins to leak and you lose the effectiveness of your CPAP therapy. Instead of properly pressurized air being available to you for breathing, it escapes through a poor seal.

How the ResMed AirFit F40 Full Face Mask Cushion is Different

The manufacturer of the ResMed AirFit F40 full face mask frame, making small-wide, medium and large replacement cushion sizes, allows users to keep their full face CPAP working like new every time users swap it out. The bottom of the cushion feels soft against your skin while the sides and top offer a gentle yet complete seal.

Enjoy A Restful Sleep with an AirFit F40 Mask

Adapting to wearing a ResMed AirFit F40 full face mask every night can be challenging for some users. Selecting a mask and headgear that fits comfortably while also delivering consistent and reliable performance is important. The "Fit" series and "Touch" series are the newest family of sleep apnea therapy products from ResMed. The full-face style implements a compact design that covers the nose and mouth allowing you to breathe easily through both.

Get the Best Results from a Right-Sized Mask and Cushion

Headgear and cushions in several sizes allow for a comfortable fit and effective seal to maintain the proper pressure from your CPAP device and through the tubes to your mouth and nose through a CPAP mask. The F40 full face cushion fits the ResMed AirFit F40 and provides targeted CPAP therapy through the bottom of both nostrils and the mouth, and seals completely.

Important Note: Purchasing this product only includes the full face cushion and DOES NOT include the complete AirFit F40 Full Face CPAP Mask. Do I Need a Prescription for This Product?

No, CPAP mask parts and accessories do not require a
prescription for purchase. Often you can prolong the life of your CPAP mask by
replacing the cushion seals and headgear, a great cost savings!

How Do I Know Which Size Cushion to Buy?

It is very important to confirm the size of replacement mask
cushion seal for a few reasons. 1.) While most CPAP masks use a standard frame
size, some offer different sizes. 2.) Once a cushion has been opened from the original
packaging it cannot be returned. You can usually find the size of the cushion
labeled some place on your current mask, be sure to check there first. Not
sure? Feel free to use our live chat to speak with an agent for assistance.

Is This Cushion Seal Latex Free?

Yes, all CPAP mask cushions we
sell are latex free. Most cushion seals are made from soft silicone material.
For CPAP users that experience discomfort from silicone cushions there are some
masks that use cloth or memory foam material. Feel free to speak with one of
our customer service agents to find out more.

How Often Should I Replace This Cushion Seal?

Your mask cushion seal typically has a life span of 1-3 months,
however with proper care they can last up to 6 months. Signs of replacement will
be excessive mask leak and/or discoloration.

How Do I Clean My Mask Cushion Seal?

You should consult the owner’s manual that is included with
your mask system. The rule of thumb for most mask cushion seals is to clean
with mild soap by hand and let air dry. It is important to clean your cushion
seal daily to remove facial oils, makeup or dirt that can cause mask leaks.

I Want to Submit an Insurance Claim. Can I Do
This?

In most cases you can submit a claim form for an out-of-net
network provider. You may receive reimbursement back from your provider
depending on your coverage and co-pay. The HCPC code for a nasal or full-face
cushion is A7032. For pillow cushion styles you should use HCPC code A0733.

My Favorite Mask So Far

I have been a loyal user of full-face masks for approximately ten years since commencing my ASV therapy journey. However, despite trying various sizes and configurations, including both silicone and foam options, I have never found them to be particularly comfortable. Initially, I was somewhat hesitant to believe that a pillow-type mask could offer a superior experience, but I was determined to give it a chance in the hopes of discovering a more enjoyable and comfortable solution. The F40 model has exceeded my expectations and proven to be significantly more comfortable than its predecessors, the F20 and F30.

Very Comfortable Mask

I'm new to to cpap therapy, it was hard to get used to my previous mask F30. After changing to the F40, I was finally able to sleep. I think the problem is my nose is quite flat and air was leaking out of the F30. For some reason, in the same size, F40 provides a better seal and it much more comfortable. Air is still leaking occasionally but it's not so bad. Sometimes adjusting too tight is also not good.

Comfortable Headgear

I really like how the clips are magnetic on this headgear. Not only that but the headgear itself is soft. I used to hate the way headgear felt on my face and so far this one has been the best one for me. The mask itself is really good as well.

Best Mask for Me!

I’ve been using full face masks since I started ASV therapy some 10 years ago. They’ve never been very comfortable, no matter what the size or configuration (silicone or foam). I was somewhat skeptical at first that a pillow-type mask would work, but wanted to try anyway for the chance of finding something that I would enjoy, or at least not despise, wearing. The F40 is orders of magnitude above the F20/F30. Very comfortable, stays where you want it, and having the short hose that connects to the long hose off the machine is genius for now keeping that big 90 degree elbow off of your face. Love it!
