Z1/Z2 CPAP DC Mobile Power Adapter
DC Mobile Power Cord Adapter for Z1 and Z2
This Product DOES NOT Require a Prescription
The 12V Z1 / Z2 DC Mobile Power Cord Adapter can be used to plug all Z1 or Z2 CPAP systems or Z1 / Z2 Power Shell with battery into the "cigarette" style outlets found in most cars, boats, trucks, and other vehicles, making this a must have accessory for those who love to travel, or just a day away from home.
The DC Z1 / Z2 Power Cord Adapter is used to connect the machine or Power Shell with battery to a 12 Volt battery source (cigarette lighter style plug). The peg end of the cord plugs into the Z1 or Z2 CPAP machine, while the other end of the cord plugs into a power/cigarette lighter outlet or stand alone Battery Source. If you are interested in a power source that's cord free, check out the Z1 / Z2 PowerShell with Battery. The cord length is 6 feet tip to tip, and the cord only is approximately 5.5 feet.
Important: The DC Mobile Power Cord Adapter is compatible ONLY with the Z1 or Z2 CPAP Machine Series.

Get a generic charger instead

Get a generic car charger with a 5.5x2.1mm barrel connector instead. This charger provides unregulated power straight from the cigarette lighter, so a generic travel charger with a barrel connector works exactly the same. The barrel connector has to have a 5.5mm sleeve & 2.1mm inner pin (aka 5.5x2.1mm connector). Make sure to get one with a 5 amp fuse. Some chargers are only rated for a 3 amp fuse.
I tested a generic charger with my Z2 Auto and it powered up and ran perfectly, both with the engine running (providing ~14.1V of power) and with the engine off and the car in accessory mode (~13.5V). I also bench tested the Z2 Auto with an AC to DC converter which provided ~12.7V. The CPAP still worked perfectly.
The AC adapter included with the Z2 CPAP provides 15V of power, but it seems HDM/Breas designed the machine to work on a range of voltages, since the official car charger provides unregulated power, the same as any generic car charger would.

Love this cord. I'm a trucker, so being able to run my machine off my truck is important.
