CPAP Nasal Pillow Masks
Nasal pillow masks are the least invasive continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy interface for sleep apnea. This mask design uses small silicone or gel cushion inserts that provide a seal around the outside of the nostril. This minimalist style is the preferred choice for people who may be claustrophobic or have difficulty maintaining a seal due to facial hair. A clear field of vision lets the user watch TV while falling asleep on this form of sleep therapy.
Determining the most comfortable mask is solely dependent on the user’s facial structure and preferences. One user’s face can tolerate different contact points of a CPAP mask that another user could not tolerate. Nasal pillow masks use the outer rim of the nostril to seal the mask, so finding the right fit will be a determining factor on your comfort. The incorrect size pillow can cause the mask to leak or cause the user to overtighten their headgear.
